Cyclic Loading of Glued-In FRP Rods in Timber: Experimental and Analytical Study

نویسندگان

چکیده

The axial load capacity and stiffness of carbon fiber–reinforced polymer (CFRP) glass (GFRP) rods glued in timber is investigated under cyclic loading as the main design consideration for structures that experience reversal (e.g., due to wind loading). Load cycles at 20%, 40%, 60%, 80% ultimate three repetitions per cycle were considered. parameters examined are effect FRP rod, anchorage length, construction scenario. scenarios represent full contact between faces, gaps joints long-term effects viscoelastic creep) manufacturing tolerances, with other materials. GFRP exhibit 23% higher 20% lower tensile than CFRP an embedment length 5D, where D = diameter rod. tends plateau increasing bonded lengths greater 10D. Small significantly decrease compressive glued-in first varies along length. An analytical methodology presented describe bond stress transfer mechanism progressive degradation. slip values agree fairly well experimental results when debonding takes place load.

a contrastive study of rhetorical functions of citation in iranian and international elt scopus journals

writing an academic article requires the researchers to provide support for their works by learning how to cite the works of others. various studies regarding the analysis of citation in m.a theses have been done, while little work has been done on comparison of citations among elt scopus journal articles, and so the dearth of research in this area demands for further investigation into citatio...

Evaluation of a Timber Bridge for the Secondary Road System Using FRP Reinforced Glued-Laminated Girders

One of the goals that the Innovative Bridge Research and Construction (IRBC) program, sponsored by the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA), wishes to achieve through sponsored research projects is the concept of an economical, durable, short-span bridge that reduces construction time. Delaware County, Iowa took a step in that direction through the construction of a 64 ft. long bridge comprise...

Numerical and Experimental Study on Ratcheting Behavior of Plates with Circular Cutouts under Cyclic Axial Loading

In this paper, accumulation of plastic deformation of AISI 1045 steel plates with circular cutouts under cyclic axial loading is studied. Loading was applied under force-control conditions. Experimental tests were performed using a Zwick/Roell servo hydraulic machine. Under force-control loading with nonzero mean force, plastic strain was accumulated in continuous cycles called ratcheting. Nume...

simulation and experimental studies for prediction mineral scale formation in oil field during mixing of injection and formation water

abstract: mineral scaling in oil and gas production equipment is one of the most important problem that occurs while water injection and it has been recognized to be a major operational problem. the incompatibility between injected and formation waters may result in inorganic scale precipitation in the equipment and reservoir and then reduction of oil production rate and water injection rate. ...
